    Marine; reef-associated; depth range 2 - 20 m . Tropical; 30°N - 9°S, 102°E - 163°E

    Maturity: Lm ?  range ? - ? cm Max length : 40.0 cm TL male/unsexed;

    Dorsal spines (total): 9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10; Anal spines: 3; Anal soft rays: 9. Males are easily recognized by the bright orange patch. Females are similar to males but lack orange . Body shape (shape guide): elongated;  Cross section: compressed.
