Welcome to the Marine Biodiversity Database

The Marine Biodiversity Database is a unified information system for valuable marine life information collected by various researchers. It provides open-access storage for marine biology researchers to publish their works and help advance the understanding of the biodiversity profile, genetic diversity, and population connectivity of marine fishes in Mindanao.

We aim to

Fill the gaps in reliable biodiversity monitoring & information dissemination

Help marine biology research move forward despite lack of access to fish taxonomists

Prevent worldwide concerns caused by rampant substitution & mislabeling of species

It is a project under the Applied Biodiversity ReseArch for Holistic Advancements in Mindanao (ABRAHAM) Program which oversees projects assessing and documenting the reef fish diversity in Davao Region and the Sulu Archipelago. It also aims to increase the pool of local marine biodiversity experts through collaborations with Higher Education Institutions.
